XSR700 Legacy is great to look at – and even better to ride! The beating heart of this charismatic modern retro is Yamaha’s iconic 690cc CP2 engine that punches well above its weight to give amazing acceleration. And the combination of a compact tubular chassis with plush suspension and block pattern tyres gives outstanding agility and road holding on the street and gravel.
Yamaha Heritage inspired colours and graphics
The XSR700 Legacy’s classic looks are enhanced by the blend of timeless Yamaha Speed block graphics and beautiful brushed aluminium. Combined with the black engine and frame and gold coloured wheels, this retro paint scheme complements the very special character of this handsome middleweight.
Timeless style, up to the minute technology
The XSR700 Legacy perfectly captures the essence of the Faster Sons movement in the special way that it blends iconic scrambler style with up to the minute technology. It’s a timeless design that gets noticed wherever you ride, from city streets to gravel roads. And you can be sure that its advanced Yamaha engine and chassis technology is going to give you an outstanding and memorable experience wherever you go.
Best-selling torque-rich engine
Its handsome good looks are most definitely inspired by another era, but the XSR700 Legacy’s driving force is supplied by one of the most successful motorcycle engines of all time. Featuring Yamaha’s special torque-boosting crossplane technology, the 690cc EU5 2-cylinder engine gives you outstanding acceleration in every gear for one of the most responsive and enjoyable riding experiences you’ll find on any bike.
Light and slim tubular backbone frame
For lightweight manoeuvrability and easy agility the XSR700 Legacy runs with a slim steel backbone frame with a two piece subframe that makes the bike easy to customise. With a compact wheelbase, low seat height, easy steering and smooth suspension, this rugged chassis gives an agile and enjoyable ride on the tarmac and gravel.
Classic scrambler design
Inspired by some of Yamaha’s most iconic bikes from the past, the XSR700 Legacy’s classic scrambler design looks just as good today as it did all those years ago. Key features such as the flat profile seat, black rubber fork gaiters and the compact round headlight and taillight – as well as the wide braced handlebars and 2-into-1 exhaust pipe with upswept muffler – combine authentic scrambler looks with the very latest lightweight materials and reliable Yamaha technology.
Braced scrambler handlebars, grips and chunky footrests
The black braced handlebars give an upright riding position and are wider than standard so that you can benefit from increased turning power in congested traffic and when you’re negotiating gravel tracks in the countryside. And to complement the timeless scrambler style the XSR700 Legacy features chunky footrests and handlebar grips that look great and deliver a comfortable ride.
High-tech XSR family lighting
Yamaha’s XSR family of Sport Heritage bikes runs from 125cc through to 890cc, and each model shares the same pure DNA that makes them stand out. One of the shared family characteristics is the compact round LED headlight and circular LED taillight that provide high levels of visibility while also forming an integral part of the bike’s timeless character.
Forward-mounted round LCD meter
With its classic round shape combined with contemporary features, the LCD instruments are mounted on an offset bracket in a forward position for improved clarity and visibility. Finished in all black, the meter assembly gives this Sport Heritage scrambler a rugged and minimalist ‘snub nose’ look that perfectly matches its down to earth character.
